The in-college “World Skills” championship was held
From April 9 to 10, 2025, the Medical College of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (AO "UKMA") organized the WorldSkills-2025 intra-college championship in the competency of "Medical and Social Care," under the guidance of the Department of "Nursing Care-1."
The objectives of the competition:
• To deepen and expand the theoretical and practical knowledge of students;
• To assess professional knowledge, skills, and competencies;
• To reinforce the skills of performing medical procedures;
• To evaluate active listening, speaking, observation, memory, communication, and critical thinking skills;
• To foster professional qualities and a sense of responsibility;
• To enhance the prestige of the profession.
The competition was attended by students specializing in "Nursing Care" with the qualification of "Applied Bachelor of Nursing Care": Baigabyl A.B., Narbay A.N., Arzykhulova N.P., and Yerman A.B.
The evaluation of the students was carried out by the following experts:
A.M. Kushkarova, Director of the Medical College at AO "UKMA";
Z.R. Khudaibergenova, Senior Nurse of the General Practice District Department at the polyclinic of City Hospital No. 2;
U.I. Irniyazova, Lecturer at the Department of "Nursing Care-2."
The WorldSkills-2025 Championship in the competency "Medical and Social Care" was conducted in three modules:
Module A. Post-operative care of a patient in a hospital setting;
Module B. Consulting a patient with bronchial asthma in a day hospital setting;
Module C. Home care for an oncology patient.
For the tasks presented in the modules, the participants demonstrated their theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The experts evaluated them based on checklists and summarized the results.
As a result, students specializing in "Nursing Care" with the qualification of "Applied Bachelor of Nursing Care" earned the following places:
• A.B. Baigabyl — 1st place;
• A.N. Narbay — 2nd place;
• N.P. Arzykhulova — 3rd place.
The remaining participants were awarded certificates. A.B. Baygabil received an invitation to the regional stage of the championship.
