On October 5, 2026, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social Sciences, G.S. Aidarbekova, conducted an open lecture on the topic “The Importance of Human Rights in the Constitution” for first-year students of the “Medicine” educational program.
The open lecture was organized as part of a series of events aimed at promoting and popularizing the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The purpose of the event was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the essence and significance of human rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, expand their knowledge of constitutional rights and responsibilities, and enhance their legal awareness and civic responsibility.
During the lecture, particular attention was paid to the role and significance of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the life of the state and society, the constitutional foundations of human rights and freedoms, and the legal mechanisms for their protection. The students were introduced to fundamental human rights, including the right to life, personal freedom, protection of honor and dignity, education, employment, healthcare, freedom of speech, and freedom of conscience.
The students were also informed that human rights and freedoms are not only values guaranteed by the state, but are closely connected with the responsibility of every citizen to society. In this regard, the importance of knowing and protecting one’s own rights, as well as respecting the rights and freedoms of others, was emphasized.
The event focused on developing students’ legal culture, respect for the law, civic awareness, responsibility, and commitment to human rights. It was emphasized that these principles are particularly important for students as future healthcare professionals, whose professional activities are directly connected with the protection of human dignity, life, and health.
The open lecture contributed to expanding students’ constitutional and legal knowledge, fostering a deeper understanding of the fundamental values of the Republic of Kazakhstan, developing respect for human rights and freedoms, and strengthening an active civic position.
