POST-RELEASE On the discussion roundtable (SSA) held for interns specializing in «General Medicine»

On February 25, 2025, the next interuniversity discussion roundtable (SSA) for interns was held in an online format. The event was attended by interns and academic advisors from «Astana Medical University,» «South Kazakhstan Medical Academy», «Karaganda Medical University», and «Semey Medical University».
The topic of the roundtable was «Type 2 Diabetes – A Global Issue: Modern Approaches to Diagnosis and Treatment».
7th-year interns from the «General Practice-2» department, Miras Kumarov from group І-ЖТДҚ-10-23, and Diana Bulatova from group І-ЖТДО-21-23, presented an interesting report at the roundtable titled «Social and Economic Aspects of Type 2 Diabetes. Modern Approaches to Diagnosis». The report thoroughly discussed the diagnostic aspects of Type 2 Diabetes, as well as its economic and social aspects, and innovations in its diagnosis. The speakers presented an analysis of contemporary research on the relevance of Type 2 Diabetes and the latest diagnostic methods.
In addition, modern therapeutic treatment strategies were discussed, including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods, and the latest classes of medications. Special attention was given to personalized approaches to patients, the application of digital technologies in monitoring patient conditions, and the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in managing patients with Type 2 Diabetes.
After the presentations, a lively discussion took place, during which relevant questions were raised. Participants discussed current trends and future prospects in the development of diabetology, which will help them apply the knowledge gained in practice.
The event facilitated the exchange of experiences between interns from different universities, stimulated professional discussion, and allowed participants to expand their knowledge of current trends in the treatment and prevention of Type 2 Diabetes.
