Freedom of Religion and Prevention of Extremism

On March 17, 2025, a meeting was held with theologians Nurdaulet Amangeldi Bakhytuly and Abdimanap Nurkhan Nurtasuly from the Religious Studies Center of the Religious Affairs Department of Shymkent on the topic: "Explaining Citizens' Right to Freedom of Religion, Ensuring National Security, and Preventing the Spread of Terrorism, Racial and Religious Extremism."
During the meeting, experts emphasized that terrorism and extremism remain pressing issues in modern society. They stressed the inadmissibility of inciting religious hatred and discord, including calls for violence, as well as promoting any religious practices (religious extremism) that threaten the security, lives, health, rights, and freedoms of citizens.
As a conclusion, the theologians urged young people to be patriots of their country, respect traditional national values, and remain vigilant against destructive religious movements that negatively impact their consciousness.
On behalf of the department, gratitude was expressed to the theologians and students for their active participation.
