Exchange of experience
As part of the agreement on academic and scientific cooperation and exchange between the Belarusian State Medical University (BSMU) in Minsk and SKMA, the visit of lecturer Vadim Eduardovich Sushinsky, PhD in Medicine, Associate Professor of Therapy at BSMU, Chief Specialist in General Practice of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, and Chairman of the Belarusian Society of Gerontologists and Geriatricians, continues at the Department of General Medical Practice-2 (GMP-2) under the academic mobility program. This initiative was actively supported by the Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Gulzhan Nurbekovna Dosybaeva.
As part of the visiting program, on March 12, 2025, a seminar was held at the Regional Clinical Hospital for general practitioners, specialized doctors of the Turkestan region, and 7th-year GMP interns of the “GMP-2” department on the topic “Dyslipidemia: Current Issues in Diagnosis and Treatment.” The seminar covered various aspects of dyslipidemia. The topic sparked interest among the interns, leading to a discussion in a Q&A format at the end of the lecture.
A meeting was also held with the hospital management to discuss ways to optimize medical services at the primary healthcare and hospital levels, as well as the similarities and differences in healthcare organization between the two countries.
The visit included an introduction to the structure and operating procedures of the Regional Clinical Hospital. The tour began in the emergency department, where the patient’s journey from admission to hospitalization was reviewed. The delegation then visited the departments of cardiology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, nephrology, and the dialysis unit.
The department heads highlighted the continuity of care between inpatient treatment, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation. In the cardiology department, discussions based on patient case histories focused on recent changes in global diagnostic and treatment protocols.
