DUAL TRAINING OF STUDENTS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM "PHARMACY" ON THE BASIS OF "ECO-FARM"
As part of the cooperation between SKMA and Eco-Pharm LLP, dual training of 3rd-year students of group B-FO-02-22 of the Pharmacy educational program in the discipline Pharmacognosy-2 is carried out. Olzhabai Ayazbek, Head of the Physico-chemical Laboratory of the BioEtica LLP Testing Center at the Eco-Pharm pharmaceutical company, and Saula Turegeldievna Sultanbekova, head of the Physico-Chemical Laboratories, presented materials on the topic of quality control of medicinal plant raw materials.
During the training, the students got acquainted with the processes of conducting various types of analysis of medicinal plant raw materials. The analysis of raw materials may include commodity science, pharmacognostic, and phytochemical analyses.
The purpose of the dual training was to form students' knowledge about the standardization system, to familiarize them with the regulatory documents regulating the quality of medicinal plant raw materials.
Combined, all these methods can provide a complete picture of the quality of raw materials and their suitability for use in medicines.
Commodity analysis of medicinal plant raw materials is the most complete type of raw material analysis, which makes it possible to assess the quality and authenticity of products in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documentation.
The students got acquainted with the high-tech organization of the analytical halls of the Eco-Pharm company. The students were particularly interested in HPLC, the Soxlet apparatus, atomic absorption spectrometer, spectrophotometer, and devices for evaluating the quality of medical devices.
The students were given the opportunity to standardize and obtain the essential oil of sweet basil herb using the Soxlet apparatus.
During the study, the following can be determined: the degree of fineness of the raw material, the presence of impurities in it, the level of active substances in it, the degree of humidity, the content of impurity of ash insoluble in 10% HCl.
Pharmacognostic analysis, in turn, includes macroscopic, microscopic and phytochemical studies.
In addition to evaluating the quality of medicinal plant raw materials, Eco-Pharm LLP is engaged in the production and distribution of medical products, such as disposable sterile vacuum tubes for blood collection and storage, sterile double-sided needles and single-use needle holders under the AVATUBE trademark; Marai polyurethane orthopedic bandages and splints used in traumatology and orthopedics for the formation of immobilizing bandages and orthopedic correction of various segments of the musculoskeletal system.
Thus, the dual training system helps future personnel to improve practical skills, while maintaining a high level of theoretical training.
