«Anatomy of hearing»: poster presentation by the Department of Neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation and neurosurgery recognized among the best at an International conference

On April 25, 2025, the International scientific and educational conference for students and young scientists, «Anatomy of hearing», was held in Astrakhan, Russian Federation. The event brought together young researchers from various countries, uniting them around current issues in anatomy, physiology, neurology, and related sciences associated with auditory perception.
Representing Kazakhstan, students and staff from the Department of Neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation, and neurosurgery of South Kazakhstan medical academy participated in the conference: 6th-year resident of the ІЖТДО-30-24 program, Ruslan Makhambetali, and Department assistants Gaukhar Yeruzakhovna Tolebayeva and Gulnafis Bakytzhanovna Ramanova,
under the academic supervision of Associate Professors Gulnara Abdymazhitovna Mustapaeva and Tatyana Vasiliyevna Polukchi.

The team presented a poster titled «Neuroplasticity and hearing: How Parkinson’s disease changes sound perception", addressing a complex and important issue — the impact of neurodegenerative processes on auditory functions. The work sparked genuine interest among participants and the jury, earning high praise for both scientific novelty and clinical relevance. Among 30 poster presentations, this work was awarded first place, marking a well-deserved recognition of the research and professional potential of our young scientists. The «Anatomy of hearing» conference served not only as a platform for knowledge exchange but also showcased the high level of training of our department’s students and educators.
