Academic mobility at Azerbaijan medical university
As part of the academic mobility program, from 24.02.2025 to 28.02.2025, Acting Professor Orynbasarova K.K. sent to the Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU). This program aimed at expanding the scientific and educational potential, exchanging experiences and integrating advanced teaching methods into the educational process. In addition to conducting classes, Orynbasarova K.K. got acquainted with the educational infrastructure of AMU, teaching methods and scientific directions of the Department of Pharmacognosy. Participation in this program allowed to strengthen international cooperation and lay the foundation for future joint projects.
According to the program, Orynbasarova K.K. conducted lectures and practical classes at the Department of Pharmacognosy of the Faculty of Pharmacy for 1st year students in the discipline "Pharmaceutical Botany", for 2nd year students in the discipline "Pharmacognosy-2" and 3rd year students in the discipline "Pharmacognosy-4".
Laboratory and practical classes in the disciplines "Pharmaceutical Botany" and "Pharmacognosy" covered key aspects of studying medicinal plants. During the work with students, their systematic affiliation was discussed, detailed morphological analysis of various organs (roots, leaves, flowers, stems) was carried out, as well as the study of extraction methods and quality assessment of plant materials.
Particular attention was paid to conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, using instrumental research methods. During classes, students performed laboratory work, analyzed the results obtained, and prepared protocols and workbooks. The training was conducted at a high professional level using modern educational technologies.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the rector of the Azerbaijan Medical University, Professor Geray Geraybeyli. Particular attention was paid to the successful international cooperation of AMU, including exchange programs and joint projects with universities in neighboring countries. Promising areas of cooperation and possible joint projects were discussed. During the meeting, Professor Geray Geraybeyli presented a memorable gift to the rector of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, Zhanna Seitzhanova, and extended an invitation to visit the university in the future. This meeting strengthened the partnership between educational institutions and opened up prospects for further cooperation in the field of medicine and pharmacy.
February 26, 2025 marked 33 years since the tragic events of the Khojaly genocide. On this day, the Republic of Azerbaijan honored the memory of the victims of the tragedy. Orynbasarova K.K. took part in the ceremony of honoring the memory of the victims of Khojaly, expressing deep condolences and solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan.
On February 26, master classes were organized by Orynbasarova K.K. for the teaching staff and students of the Azerbaijan Medical University on current topics:
- "Online courses - an innovative type of training for students in higher education institutions";
- "Modern educational technologies: project-oriented learning as an effective method of teaching the development of 21st century skills".
These master classes allowed for the exchange of advanced educational practices and teaching methods, which contributes to improving the quality of higher education in the field of pharmacy.
At the end of the visit, the faculty of the Department of Pharmacognosy of the Azerbaijan Medical University expressed gratitude for the productive interaction, noting the importance of strengthening partnerships. The parties confirmed their intention to continue active cooperation within the framework of the academic mobility program for teachers and students.
